Free Crochet Pattern ~Basket Weave Wash Cloth

Here I will teach you how to make a quick, simple washcloth, while teaching you the 'basket weave stitch' at the same time. So grab onto your hook and yarn and lets get started.

Cloth shown measures 8 in. x 8 in.

I used:

4 ply worsted weight.
6 MM Hook

Advice:
Mark beg of ea row to help find last st in next row.

Row 1:
Chain 24,dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in ea ch across, ch 2, turn

Rows 2 & 3: 

Turn, Sk 1st dc. * Fpdc on next 3 dc, bpdc on next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * across. Fpdc on next 3 dc, dc in last st , ch 2(counts as 1 dc).

Rows 4 & 5

Turn. Sk 1 dc. *Bpdc on next 3 sts , fpdc on next 3 dc*. Repeat from * to * across. Dc in last st. Ch 2.

Border:

Ch 1. Turn. Sc evenly around, placing 2 sc in corners. Ss to join. Now forming hanger loop, ch 10, ss in same st, turn, sc in ea ch. Ss to join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
