Free Crochet Pattern ~Foot Bag Hacky Sack

Sac in photo made with some scrap worsted weight yarn & 3.5mm hook. Great size for beginner's.

This Hacky Sack (or Foot Bag) Game was so popular when I was younger. I remember spending hours kicking these little crochet balls, trying to keep them in the air. As I remember the rules went something like if yours hits the ground you lose. Some played special points for special moves.. (Not me..I just wasn't that awesome!). So I have decided to pass on this fun and active game to my children. And making the sacks has kept my fingers busy. Here is a FREE pattern to make your own!

Using yarn and a small enough hook to achieve tight sts.(so your 'rice' doesn't get out.). The thicker the yarn the bigger the sack will be.

Quick Baby Shower Gift Idea

Quick Baby Shower Gift Idea

First I attached the ''padded head piece'' and layered the bottom with it's matching blanket. I stuffed the bottom of this Baby basket full of Bottles, Formula, Soothers, nipples, leveled it off with baby clothing, laid tissue paper over the stuff to hide it away. Next, I placed this adorable Puppy 2 piece Baby sweater and hat to rest on top like a baby. Then I tucked it in with a Blanket.

Baby Shower Games

Memory.
Take a large tray, place random baby items on the tray..lots...like soothers, facecloth, diaper, bottle, onsie. The list can go on.
Give each lady a piece of paper and a pen.
Bring out the tray, give the ladies a good 35 or 45 seconds to look at the contents on the tray.
Take the tray away. Ask the ladies to write down everything they saw on the tray. They have 2 minutes!
The winner is the lady that remembers and writes down the most things that are on the tray.

Diaper The Baby.
Divide guests into teams. Teams choose a leader.

Time Capsule Idea by Niftnnifer

With the play house construction still under way and so much left to do, we have decided to leave a couple time capsules. I have avoided showing the 'contents' of the capsules to preserve their sentimental value. And some times it's good to forget whats inside. (It makes it more of a surprise).

Yarn Ends Recycle Craft For Birds By Niftynnifer

Don't throw out those little pieces you have lying around ! Cut them approx 2 inches each (don't worry about too big or too small..'cause the birds won't care). Stuff them into a suet feeder (without any suet!) Hang out for the birds. This will give baby birds the warmth they need, and add color to their nests!

Try stuffing a grape vine star full of yarn bits.
This will look wonderful in my gardens in the spring, and summer months... In the fall, the squirrels will take the left overs for their nests too, (as long as they can reach them).

How to Propagate Magnolias

Here is my survivor of 4 starters.
Seedlings can take up to 20 YEARS to flower!! Magnolias are slow growers.

My advice is to take at least 4 or more cuttings of a Mother Magnolia Plant right after she flowers.(Late to early spring). Magnolias are prone to rot and disease and very hard to propagate. Chances of a survivor are slim!...Take cuttings from
