Using a 4.5 MM hook size. some worsted weight yarn from my stash and Plastic Kitchen Scrubbers. (I bought mine at Dollarama), a round marker and a Darning needle.
Using Body color
Round 1:
Slip knot, ch 2, 6 sc in first ch.
Round 2:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st. 2 sc in ea st around.
Round 3:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around.
Round 4:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st, *sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around.
Round 5:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around.
Round 6:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st, *sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around.
Round 7:
Sc to join(mnr). Hdc in next st, 2 tr in next st , dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st , ss in next st ,sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, 2 tr in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st ,Sc in ea st around.
Round 8:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in ea st around, (placing 2 sc in tip/top of each ear and 1 long sc between ears (instead of the 2sc in middle). Ss to join. Fasten Off leaving a long tail to sew project onto the scrubby.
Eyes
Round 1:
Slip knot, ch 2, 6 sc in slip knot.
Round 2:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st, 2 sc in ea st around.
Round 3:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st, * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*. Repeat from * to * around. Ss join. Fasten off leaving a tail to sew eyes onto project.
MAKE 2 EYES
Position and sew eyes to progect using tail and darning needle. Sew in a beak shape using darning needle and piece of scrap yarn. Sew in eye centers using a darning needle and more scrap yarn. Add a few small pieces of yarn at tips of ears if desired.
Pin your work to the scrubby with safety pins (or row markers) to hold in place.
Carefully sew project to scrubby using Darning needle and the tail you had left on. Do not sew ears down..instead sew down 2 rounds just below the ears.
