Using:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
stove top
2 liter pop bottle
1 foot length wire
duct tape
scissors
Step 1:
Bring 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool!
Step #2:
Drink pop, discard label, and lid. retain bottle.
Step #3:
Cut bottle approximately in half with scissors. Flip top piece over so spout faces bottom of bottle, placing it inside bottom piece of bottle. Leaving space at bottom for liquid.
Step #4:
Add wire (approx. 1 foot in length) to two adjacent sides through holes (you can make holes with scissors).
Step #5:
Apply tape around top of project to hold both pieces of bottle together and close holes (escape routes).
Step #6:
Add cooled sugar water through spout...Do not fill to bottom of spout (You may not have to use all the sugar water or you may make more than one trap), being sure to leave space for yellow jackets entry. Hang outside where Yellow Jackets frequent.
