Measurements for Child Approx. Age 5
Circumference = 19 - 20 inches
Crown to mid ear = 7 inches
Tools:
Hook: 4.5mm hook sizes.
Yarn: Bernat Dippity Dots Worsted Weight. Colors I used: Teal and Pink.
Round 1:
Slip knot, ch 2, 10 sc into slip knot, sc to join(mnr). Tighten knot and fasten.
Round 2:
Sc in same st, 2 sc in ea st around, sc to join(mnr).
Round 3:
*Ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st*Repeat from * to * around. Ch1 Sc to join(mnr).
Round 4:
Ss into next ch sp.Ch 4, dc in same ch sp. V st in ea ch sp around. Ss in to ch 3 of ch 4 to join .(Make 10 vsts total).
Round 5:
Ss into next vst sp, ch 4, dc in same st, *dc in next sp after 1 vst(between 2 vsts), vst in next vst space* Repeat from * to * around.Ss in to ch 3 of ch 4 to join.
Round 6:
Ss into next vst sp, ch 4, dc in same st, ch 1, v st in same st * vst in next vst space, 2 vst in next vst sp* Repeat from * to * around.Ss in to ch 3 of ch 4 to join.
Round 7:
Ss into next vst sp, ch 4, dc in same st, ch 1, v st in same st * 2 vst in next vst space, 2 vst in next vst sp* Repeat from * to * around. Ss in to ch 3 of ch 4 to join.
Rounds 8-14:(If I made this hat again I would likely add another round or 2).
Ss to next ch sp between 2 vsts, ch 4, dc in same sp ,ch 1, vst in same sp, *2 vst between next 2 vst cluster. * Repeat from * to * around. Ss in to ch 3 of ch 4 to join
Round 15: working this round on round 14 posts.and should alternat. petal, vst, petal
Ss to next vst sp, draw through pink yarn. Tie off blue. ch 3. ss in bottom of v st, 5 dc up (right side) vst post, 5 dc down (left side) vst post, *ss in botom of next vst, 5 dc up next (right side) vst post, 5 dc down next (left side) vst post*. Repeat from *to * around. ss into top of ch 3 to join.
Round 16: working this round on round 14 posts. (this row of petal is worked behind first row made, placing these petal on vst post that remain.
ch 3. Ss (beg ss)in back, top of vst of last petal worked. 4 dc up (right side) of next vst post, 5 dc down (left side) vst post, *ss in top of next vst, 5 dc up next (right side) vst post, 5 dc down next (left side) vst post.*Repeat from *to * around. ss in beg ss. Fasten Off.
