Learn How To Make A Slip Knot By Niftynnifer

I always start with a slip knot.

Although the regular knot has it's advantages, it also has it's disadvantages. Being unable to adjust it's size easily is it's biggest disadvantage to myself and many others.

Here I will teach you the easiest way I know how to make the slip knot.

Perfect for Beanies and Amigurumi projects(while working in a round). For example: When a pattern says ''Ch 2, 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook''. Placing 10 single crochets in a slip knot is much easier than a stuck knot...

Wrap yarn end around finger twice.

The yarn to the left in the beginning will be the yarn piece you adjust the slip knot with. The way I show adjusts with the longer strand (the piece I will crochet with.) You may prefer to adjust with the 'End' piece.
Take left side and move it to right side of other loop.

Take new left side and move it to right side of other loop.

Take new right side, and pull it down finger,
releasing it from the finger.

Gently pull loop up and two ends down.

Adjusting the slip knot is easy.
Gently pull on the loop to make it bigger.
Close it up by gently pulling on one of the ends.

The end you pull on to close will ultimately depend on which way you originally wrap the yarn around your finger. The yarn to the left in the beginning will be the yarn piece you adjust with.
