Free Crochet Pattern ~Lip Balm Chap Stick Holder Pendant
For a better understanding of my crochet patterns please see My special crochet abbreviations.
I used:
2.5mm hook.
Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread Fashion 3.
Round marker.
Button/Bead big enough to fit through button hole on cap.
New Chap Stick(Lip Balm).
Tube Holder
Round 1:
Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6sc)
Round 2:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st. 2 sc in ea st around. (12sc)
Round 3:
Sc in bl to join(mnr). Sc in ea bl around. (12 sc)
Rounds 4-20:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in ea st around. (12sc)
Round 21:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in ea st around. Ss to join. Fasten Off. (12sc)
Cap
Round 1:
Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6sc)
Round 2:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st. 2 sc in ea st around. (12sc)
Round 3:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in same st. *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*. Repeat from * to * around. (18sc)
Round 4:
Sc in bl to join(mnr). Sc in ea bl around. (18 sc)
Rounds 5-7:
Sc to join(mnr). Sc in ea st around. (18sc)
Round 8:
Ss to join(mnr). *Ch 3, sk next 2 sts, ss in next st * Repeat from * to * 3 times, Ch 8(button loop), ss in same st.*Ch 3, sk next 2 sts, ss in next st * Repeat from * to * 3 times . Ss in last st.
Round 9:
Ss to join(mnr). *5 sc in next ch sp, ss in next ss of previous round*. Repeat from * to * around.. Ss in last st. Ss to join. Fasten Off, Leaving a tail!
Mark a st at round 17 of tube. Using Tail on cap, carefully st the cap to the tube where you marked the st. Hide knots and ends inside. Place the Chap stick inside the holder and close the cap. Now mark where your bead/button will go, and then sew it in place.
Add this pendant to a key chain like I did, or a necklace...or use it by itself.
Here I used a different color of thread, embroidery floss and a fish button :) My daughter loves it.
