Here is a fantastic bird house
my husband built & daughter painted.
And you can do it too!
Adults are required to cut wood
& use any power tools needed for project.
Please remember to use proper safety equipment,
and you should have experience with all power tools
before using them.
We Used:
- 1/2 inch plywood.
- Drawer Handle with fasteners.
- Air nailer & nails. (You could use a hammer.)
- Wood glue.
- Table Saw.
- Miter Saw.
- 1 1/4 inch butterfly bit.
- Drill.
- Measureing tape.
- Pencil.
- Paint, brushes.
- Screws and srewdriver for mounting.
Cut out your pieces
Front measurements:6 X 8 inches with 45 degree taper from top centre.
Handle holes ~ 2 1/2 inches from bottom.
Bird hole ~ 4 1 1/2 inches from bottom, centred.
Back measurements:
6 X 9 inches
(1 inch from bottom is for overhang to place screws for mounting.)
Sides measurements:
5 1/4 X 6 inches.
Bottom measurements:
5 X 6 inches.
Roof Sides measurements:
1 at 5 X 8 inches.
1 at 5 1/2 X 8 inches.
NOTE: Attach your drawer handle and drill the bird hole before assembling your house.
Assemble using wood glue & nails.
My husband made a few....
And had the children & I paint them...
We mounted them to the fence posts.
