Free Crochet Hair Kerchief Pattern By Niftynnifer



To help keep her hair out of her face on these warmer spring days. Here is a quick pattern made using 2 threads to achieve a fantastic, interesting piece she is sure to adore.

Fits:
Approx. 20 1/2 inch circumference.
Approx. 7 1/2 inch Crown to mid ear.
Note: add or decrease rows
to achieve multiple sizes.

Gauge:
Approx. 5 3dc clusters = 6 inches.
Approx 9 rows = 6 inches.


I used:
Hook 5.5mm
Threads: Aunt Lydias Classic Size 10 in color 'Shaded Pinks' & Aunt Lydia's Fashion Size 3 in color 'Black'.
1 inch button
Needle

Using both threads at once.
Row 1:
Ch 4, ss into beg ch (to form ring), ch 3(counts as first dc), 2 dc into ring. (3dc)
Row 2:
Ch 3. Turn.  2 dc into same st. Sk next st. 3 dc into last st. (6dc)
Rows 3-14:
Ch 3. Turn. 2 dc into same st. 3 dc in ea sp(between 2 groups of 3 dc clusters in previous row across. Work 3 dc in last st.
Row 15:
Turn. 3 dc in ea sp between 3 dc clusters in previous row across. Ss in last st. Do not fasten off.
Button hole:
Ch 8. Do not turn. Ss in same st to join. Fasten Off.




Sew the button onto opposite side of kerchief.







Tassel:


Wrap black yarn around 4 fingers 20 times, and pink 40 times. Cut them at same length along one side. 













Use one piece of black to tie all pieces tog in center(tightly!). Tie onto beg ring. 














Tie another piece of black thread around the sides, closer to the top(tightly!). Trim ends.
