Free Crochet Pattern ~ Beautiful Blue Bear Hood

She looks so adorable in her Beautiful Blue Bear Hood. The blue brings out the colour of her eyes. The fur is amazing to the touch.

I used:
Yarn: Ice Yarns. 5 Bulky, 'Bunny Soft'. Colour 'Blue white' (4 Balls).
Yarn: Smaller amount of Ice Yarns. 5 Bulky, 'Smooth Fur'. Colour 'Brown White'.
Yarn: Smaller amount of Willow Burrow. Worsted. Colour 'Chalk'.
6.5 mm hook.
5 mm hook.

Gauge
Approximately 7 sts = 4 inches.
approximately 8 row = 4 inches.

Hood
Using Blue yarn and 6.5 mm hook.
Round 1:
Ch 2. 6 Hdc in 2nd ch from hook. (6hdc)
Round 2:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. 2 hdc in ea st around. (12hdc)
Round 3:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next st. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (18hdc)
Round 4:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next 2 sts. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (24hdc)
Round 5:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next 3 sts. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (30hdc)
Round 6:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next 4 sts. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (36hdc)

Round 20:
Ch 6. Ss in top of beg ch 2 of row 19 (to form neck). Ch 2. Turn. 
Now working along 'neck line', hdc in next 6 ch's. Work 44 more hdc's around. (47 hdc)
Round 21-28:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in ea st around. (47hdc)
Round 29:
Ss in next st, draw up new yarn(Brown Fur). Fasten Off Blue. Ch 1 (mnr),. Evenly sc in ea st around. (47sc) Ss to join. Fasten off.

Face Border
Ss to join new yarn (Brown Fur) in any st around face border. Ch 1, sc evenly around. Ss to join. Fasten Off.

Ears

Part 1:
Using Blue Yarn and 6.5 mm hook.
Round 1:
Ch 2. 6 Hdc in 2nd ch from hook. (6hdc)
Round 2:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. 2 hdc in ea st around. (12hdc)
Round 3:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next st. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (18hdc)
Round 4:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next 2 sts. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (24hdc) Ss to join. Fasten off leaving tail.
Make 2

Part 2:
Using Chalk Yarn and 5 mm hook.
Round 1:
Ch 2. 6 Hdc in 2nd ch from hook. (6hdc)
Round 2:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. 2 hdc in ea st around. (12hdc)
Round 3:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next st. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (18hdc)
Round 4:
Hdc to join(mnr). Hdc in same st. *Hdc in next 2 sts. 2 hdc in next st* Repeat from * to * around. (24hdc) Ss to join. Fasten off leaving tail.
Make 2

~Take one 'chalk' piece and one blue piece. Put them together (wrong sides facing in). Using tail from part 2 (Chalk) sew the 2 pieces together around the edges.
Repeat with other ear.
~Position & pin your ears to the hood. Using the tail, sew the ears to the hood.
After attaching the ears. Starting at right side of ear, working left. Ss to join new yarn (Brown Fur). Ch 1. Sc around top of ear, ignoring the part sewn to the hood.
Repeat on other side.
Sew in all ends.

Pull Chains

Using 6.5 mm hook and new yarn (Chalk).
Make a chain of 70. Fasten off leaving a 6 inch tail at both ends.
Weave Chain evenly through top of sts in top round of cowl(collar).
Make 2  4 inch Pom Poms 

Tie your pom poms to the ends of the chain. Trim ends. Trim pom poms as desired.
