Recently I injured my back. I had lots of time to rest while waiting to see a Chiropractor.
I decided I needed a quick and easy crochet pattern to make a blanket for my daughter's birthday. I found the C2C (Corner to Corner) Throw pattern >HERE<.
I used yarn from my stash, to match the pillow I created from my Twist & Shake Square pattern.
The Corner to Corner Throw is a pattern designed by Catherine Watson for Red Heart. I was able to easily download and print the pattern so I could be away from my computer while I was injured. They even have a video tutorial to help with this pattern. I did not need to watch the video as the pattern is well written and I found it easy to understand. This pattern was super easy and worked up very quickly.
I followed the pattern almost exactly, but changed a few things. I used yarn from my stash, to match the pillow I created from my Twist & Shake Square pattern.
I also did not make the throw as big as the pattern shows, although if I work this pattern again I would go bigger.
I did not follow the pattern for switching colours. I only had yarn from my stash so I went with what I could.
I also found this lovely Sugar'n Cream Yarn in the colour 'Butterfly Ombre' in my yarn stash, so I worked up a quick C2C washcloth. Making a washcloth is also a great way to test out the C2C pattern.
For the pillow I used my Twist & Shake Square pattern.
Originally I had planned on making a baby blanket from the squares, but I decided to do a pillow instead.
I already had a pillow that fit between the squares perfectly.
I just simply lined up the stitches on the edge of each square and evenly Single Crocheted the two pieces together, with the pillow inside.
She absolutely loves her new blanket and pillow. She says they are so soft and warm.
