Polymer Clay ~My First Yarn Bowl
Yea, I am a beginner when it comes to clay,So this is my very first serious attempt at FIMO/Polymer clay work. I thought I would make a fun yarn bowl for my self. I kind of changed my frame of mind half way through, as I realised that I prefer to use my hands rather than a rolling pin and other tools.... I think I fell in love with the character I can create using my hands and clay...
MATERIALS I USED
~ Oven/Preheated to 265 F
~ Steel Mixing Bowl
~ FIMO/Polymer clay
~ Acrylic Paint
~ Paint brush
~ Rolling Pin
~ Wax Paper
Today I felt like trying something different. I have little experience with polymer clay and would classify myself as a beginner.
My first advice is to start with a clean, dry surface and supplies. I layed out wax paper to help keep my table clean and the clay from sticking to the surface.

Use Your Yarn Ends For Business Card Ties By Niftynnifer
I really love using up my yarn ends. I go through so many! So why not use them for my business cards too! I use my ends for so many things...They very seldom see the trash...
Tools I used:
~My business cards.
~Yarn ends just long enough to use as ties.
~A hole puncher.
~Some cute flower embellishment stickers(From Dollarama).

Yarn Peg Board For Braided Ties And So Much More
After watching me struggle many times to get the right lengths of hair for hats and braided ties...
Look what my husband, Shawn made me!
The pegs are all removable. The first one gets lifted, the yarn end goes in the hole, and replace the peg to hold it in place.
Wrap the yarn repeatedly around the length you want. I still have to add the lengths to the peg board. This length is at 16 inchs.
Cut all the yarn at one end in the same location.!
Remove from board. Tah Dah! They are all the same length!
Now all I need is a hole in the back of the board...For easy hanging and storage when not in use....

Yarn Ends Recycle Craft For Birds By Niftynnifer
Don't throw out those little pieces you have lying around ! Cut them approx 2 inches each (don't worry about too big or too small..'cause the birds won't care). Stuff them into a suet feeder (without any suet!) Hang out for the birds. This will give baby birds the warmth they need, and add color to their nests!
Try stuffing a grape vine star full of yarn bits.
This will look wonderful in my gardens in the spring, and summer months... In the fall, the squirrels will take the left overs for their nests too, (as long as they can reach them).
